Translated word 'slave' does not exist in the Scriptures 'Bondmen' and 'bondwomen' do not exist either in the Scriptures

There was no slavery (oppression) which was permitted by Jesus in the land of Israel

Service or being a servant in Israel was voluntary whether bought or not. Stealing anyone to sell carries the death penalty for the thief.

(40) As a hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee; he shall serve with thee unto the year of jubilee:
